Social skills are the rules and expectations which allow us to connect to others around us. These rules govern the behaviours about ‘what we do?’, ‘how we do it’? and ‘when we do it’?. Since, social rules explicit and implied are all around us, it is easiest to notice when they are missing. This has been the case all too often for our individuals with autism.
Hope Autism Services, center for treatment and development is excited to offer social skills training in an enjoyable and interactive environment. The training is provided to ages 4 to 10 years of age, where the groups are divided based on the age and skill level. These small group sessions are provided under a supervision of a BCBA and implemented by well qualified therapist. The program is based on ABA’s Behaviour Skills Training (BST) model provided in a small group setting.
The social skills group is a 8 week program and offered at our center location 150 Britannia road east, unit 9, Mississauga, ON, L4Z2A4. Ages 4 to 6 are going placed in the morning session 9:30 to 11:30 and ages 7 to 10 are going placed in the afternoon session 12:00 to 2:00.
